It's hard to understand how some people can get extremely violent over mundane matters.

An Italian man living in Ireland reportedly got into an argument with his Irish landlord while the two were playing chess, and then killed him and tried to eat his heart.

Following the gruesome incident, the attacker, Saverio Bellante, called police and confessed to the crime.

Upon their arrival, he told the authorities that he’d been engaged in a game of chess with Tom O’Gorman, the owner of the Castlenock Dublin area house, when the two become embroiled in a disagreement about a particular move.

Bellante then revealed that he’d repeatedly bludgeoned O’Gorman before cutting him open and trying to eat his heart.

An examination of O’Gorman’s body revealed that Bellante had done more than cut him open, he’d stabbed him dozens of times.

Further, while Bellante was unsuccessful in removing his victim’s heart, the post-mortem report said that a lung was missing.

The confessed murderer is now being held in prison.

In his first court appearance he offered no plea, but did make it known he planned to represent himself at trial.
