In this guitar lesson, Cameron will teach you a cool bebop lick in the style of great jazz players like Charlie Parker, so if you want to get into jazz and bebop guitar I really
recommend you to check out this lesson.
So, what is jazz bebop style? Bebop or bop is a style of jazz characterized by fast tempo, instrumental virtuosity and improvisation based on the combination of harmonic structure and melody. It was developed in the early and mid-1940s. This style of jazz ultimately became synonymous with modern jazz, as either category reached a certain final maturity in the 1960s.
Charles "Charlie" Parker was a jazz saxophonist and composer also known as "Bird" and was a highly influential jazz soloist and a leading figure in the development of bebop.
Alright, the example of today´s lesson like we already said, it is a bebop line over a II V in C major and as every bebop phrase has a lot of chromatisms and outside notes...
Ok, hope this helps and don´t forget to come up with your own ideas, which is the best advice for starting to find `your´ unique sound and style. That is all for today... Also I suggest that you keep enjoying and learning from Cameron and all the staff at Guitarcontrol.com! Where? In our free guitar lessons at www.youtube.com/guitarcontrol
