Italian film “La Grande Bellezza” “The Great Beauty” in English directed by Paolo Sorrentino picks up the award for the Best foreign film at the 71st Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

It tells the tale of Jep Gambardella, seducer and player in Rome’s lavish nightlife for decades. Jep then turns 65 and adopts a more reflective attitude to existence.

The best drama honour went to “12 Years a Slave:” by British director Steve McQueen based on the book by Soloman Northup.

The movie “American Hustle” walked away with three awards the best film comedy while actresses Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence claimed the best actress and best supporting actress accolades.
