The latest round of nuclear talks have ended in Geneva.

Officials from the European Union and Iran have have made “very good progress” in talks on implementing a landmark nuclear deal, according to the EU.

They met to iron out technical issues in order to implement the November agreement. Under the deal, Iran vowed to limit its nuclear work in return for relief from western economic sanctions.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the talks showed the hostility of America against Iran, Iranians and Islam. He described the US as “the Satan” on Thursday before the start of the talks.

Khamenei is backing the accord, despite fierce critisism by political and religious hardliners.

The progress made during this latest round of talks needs to be rubber-stamped by the six major powers involved in the November deal: the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany.
