Technology creates options for India's blind

Saturday is World Braille Day, a celebration of the system of raised dots that has helped empower millions of visually-impaired people to read, learn, and lead normal lives.

But with 60 to 70 percent of all blind people in India living in rural areas, there are challenges to bringing Braille to them.

And some say a more modern alternative, such as voice recognition and audio programs, is needed.

Al Jazeera's Faiz Jamil reports from New Delhi.
