A man from Palmetto, Florida was recently arrested for impersonating a police officer. He might have gotten away with it too, if he hadn’t flagged down a police officer – a real one that is.

A man from Palmetto, Florida was recently arrested for impersonating a police officer. 24-year-old Jonathan Stevens was caught red handed wearing a badge and carrying a gun.

He might have gotten away with it too, if he hadn’t flagged down a police officer –a real one that is. Stevens had been driving a Chevy Tahoe. He pulled over and turned on the SUV’s flashing blue and red lights.

When a female officer stopped to speak with him, Stevens said he wanted to report a reckless driver he witnessed. He also told the cop that he worked with homeland security.

His “badge” was around his neck for everyone to see and he was armed. The alert officer wasn’t buying his story, however, as she knew the Tahoe wasn’t a government issued vehicle.

Once interviewed, Stevens admitted to lying about being with law enforcement. He also did not have a permit to posses a concealed weapon.

Stevens was released after posting $17,500 bail, but he was right back to the same old tricks. Just day after the first arrest, he flashed his fake badge at local restaurant in an effort to get a discount. He was placed in cuffs again on New Year Eve.
