This large bushfire has forced around 900 campers to leave Australia's North Stradbroke Island near Brisbane.

Authorities expect the weather to become hotter in the next few days so holiday makers were forced to pack up and leave.

A plume of smoke hung over the island but police said there was no threat to properties.

The blaze was sparked by a lightning strike at the weekend.
