This is dashcam video from the car of a Ukrainian journalist and opposition activist.
She's Tetyana Chornovil, known for investigating government corruption.
She was chased down in the capital Kiev at midnight Christmas Day and savagely beaten by unknown men.
(SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) BEATEN UKRAINIAN JOURNALIST TETYANA CHORNOVIL, SAYING:
"A jeep was running into me, tried to smash into me. I jumped out of my car, ran to escape but they caught me and started to beat me up."
The assault on the prominent 34-year-old activist has restored some of the passion to mass anti-government protests in Kiev that had been losing steam.
Demonstrators, angry over the direction of the country and a violent police crackdown on protesters, are calling for President Viktor Yanukovich and his administration to resign.
