Turkey’s embattled Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said he has replaced ten cabinet ministers.

It comes amid a high-level corruption scandal which followed the resignation of three ministers.

Those replaced include EU Minister Egemen Bagis, who was allegedly named in the corruption probe but until then had not resigned, and other key positions including the heads of economy and justice.

Earlier, Turkey’s interior and economy ministers quit the government.

Subsequently the environment minister stepped down, calling on Erdogan to follow suit.

The departures follow the arrests of sons of the three ministers, as police unveiled a probe into corruption.

The three deny any wrongdoing by their sons or the government.
