Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi addressed a function “Self-help group” sponsored by state government called “Umeed” for the empowerment of women in Jammu and Kashmir during his visit. “Around 11 lacs women have been associated with this group in UP which was not sponsored by the government.” He added. Rahul also said UP government had refused to start this in UP eight years back but this group called Umeed is totally backed by state government here in Jammu and Kashmir.
