Residents in Romulus, Michigan along with the mayor and members of the chamber of Commerce recently gathered together as part of a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of a Taco Bell franchise. While it may not seem like a big deal to out of town folks, but to locals, they’re hoping the restaurant will pave the way for more business growth.

In some towns, it doesn’t take much to keep residents happy. Take the suburban area of Romulus, about 25 miles outside of Detroit Michigan, for example.

Dwellers along with the mayor and members of the chamber of Commerce recently gathered together as part of a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of a Taco Bell franchise.

The fast food establishment is located on 9920 S. Wayne Road and its situated right next to the local high school, leaving not only adults happy but adolescent kids who don’t possess a license yet.

The Mayor LeRoy Burcroff stated “I’ve been involved in city government for 16 years and served on the Planning Commission for eight of those years. Of all the developments during that time, this is the one my kids are most excited about.”

The restaurant, which has a contemporary, more upscale interior design, employs approximately 40 people, the majority of whom are Romulus residents.

The eatery which is open until 2 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays and even later on Fridays and Saturdays may not seem like a big deal to out of town folks, but locals are hoping the restaurant will pave the way for more business growth.
