A man in Greenwood, Indiana goes overboard each year during the holiday season.
You think you are good at decorating your house for the holidays?
Will till you hear one man's story from Greenwood, Indiana.
For his 2013 Christmas display, Brandon Smith has strung lights and added ornaments to a whopping 86 artificial Christmas trees.
Amazingly, the trees aren’t outside his home, instead they’re indoors, taking up a good portion of space in his 1,400 square foot residence. Smith takes donations for the trees all year round.
52,000 lights in total make the exhibit vibrant and extremely festive. Smith claimed his passion for Christmas started when as a child, when his family would put up an elaborate display and over the years, he’s taken it even further.
The Christmas trees are basically in every open space in his residence, including the bathroom. Smith allows Christmas lovers from all over the world to come in his home and view the decorations for free, but he has a donation box set up for a local children’s hospital.
Smith pays roughly $350 a month for his electric bill because of the lights, but he makes up for it. He doesn’t pay for heat all winter long, as the tiny bulbs keep the house temperature at about 85 degrees.
