U.S. Vice President Joe Biden met with women from a Japanese game company on Tuesday (November 3) in an effort to highlight and promote women's role in Japan's male-dominated economy.

Also on Tuesday, Biden and U.S. Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy met with Crown Prince Naruhito at the Togu Palace before a formal meeting and dinner with Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe.

Biden is seeking a delicate balance between calming military tensions with China and backing ally Japan against Beijing on a trip to Asia this week that is being overshadowed by the territorial row in the East China Sea.

China's recent announcement of an expanded air defense zone has only added to the already increased tensions in the region.
