Dozens of Palestinian youths clashed with Israeli troops at the Qalandiya checkpoint and in the city of Hebron in the West Bank on Friday after the funeral procession for 24-year-old Mahmoud Awwad.
Awwad died overnight after sustaining a bullet wound to the head on August 26 when an Israeli army raided the Qalandiya refugee camp. Three Palestinian men from the camp were shot and killed during the raid.
Medical officials said that he had been receiving treatment in an Israeli hospital after falling into a coma.
Israeli border police said they entered the camp, near Jerusalem, to arrest a man and were confronted by a crowd throwing fire bombs and rocks.
