Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - I have a discharged chapter 7 in 2002,I want to buy a home. Need real advise please.? - 2001 I filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy and was discharged in 2001. I know this will stay on my credit for 10 years. After that I was able to re-established my credit. But I did something stupid and co-signed a auto loan for my fence at the time. We broke up and I find out that she was behind on the loan. I moved back to my home state and offered to take the car and finish the payments. She refused. I could not take the car because it was registered in her name only. (I check with the police on this they said they would arrest me) I find out that she voluntaries repoed the car. I now see that on my credit report. I naturally very upset.
I want to buy a home. I am married with 1 baby and another on the way. Tired of apt living. Besides these two credit flaws I have been very focused on keeping my credit up to par. I believe my fi-co score is around 650 ins. ( have not looked at that since beginning of the year)
So my question is what kid of interest rate will I be looking at if I try a mortgage now? I know it will be better if I wait for the bankruptcy to end. -
