Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - Tax refund this year? - ok, last year my bankruptcy was discharged in jan.. i went bankrupt on taxes because i was told it was far enough back that i could. in feb we filed for taxes and with economy i was going to go a refund. i was supposed to get around 3,000 but was told i owe taxes. ok np. i called irs and saw that i owed still 10,000 dollars. within a few days i got a refund back for 1,700. i have talked to them and they say i still owe even after bankruptcy. understandable. it is the govt. but what i dont understand is how i got a refund back. did bankruptcy protect them from taking it??? and will i get some back this year? -
