Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - Roommate moved out, lied to us about his S.S. being taken away, what should we do? - Okay so our ex-roommate, who has especially, got a one way ticket from my mother in law, who was visiting on vacation b/c he was almost attacking me (she came here to help me and my new born b/c i was have eclampsia and edema, also a seizure) and she thought it was the best thing..okay so he left, right away...and left a couple of boxes. Well him and his mother called my parents almost all the time to see if they could give them the money so we can send those boxes out (i dunno why he didn't send us the money) and so my dad met him Dean (ex-roommmate) and dean gave my dad $50 to send out the boxes...anyways the third came around..and it was time for dean's S.S.D I to come in, we called him to let him know how much he owed for rent, he was on the lease of course. and all of a sudden he is like i have bad news, i filled for bankruptcy and my SSDI got taken away, which im 99% sure they do not take ur income, only ur things....so im wondering if i should file a small claims court case..which will cost another 150 dollars...and we might not get anything out of him. b/c he only makes minimum (900/month) and some judges don't make someone pay if they make only that amt. but i need to know b/c we have 3 month old and it is REALLY hard to tell if we are going to make enough money for rent (I'm stay at home, looking for a job, he is working over-time and also part-time to make this work) ANY advice would be really cool, also we live in oregon and his permit is issued in florida and MN if that makes any difference -
