Hello!Beaver attack: A man died on Thursday after he was bitten by a beaver on a fishing trip with his friends in Belarus.

The 60-year-old local man was on his way to Lake Shestakov when the crew spotted a beaver along the side of the rode. When the man approached the usually non-violent creature to take some photographs, the animal lunged into an attack, biting him in two places on his thigh. As his friend ran for help, the victim continued to bleed out and died before being reached by paramedics. Environmental experts believe there is a chance that the animal was rabid.

Experts said that beaver attacks are pretty rare although this would not be the only case. Last year an 83-year-old woman lost her thumb in a similar attack by a lake in a Washington suburb. She suffered several bites up and down her leg and had to undergo a series of treatments.
