Description:
Meteor hits house: A weird black rock that smashed through a house in Wolcott, Connecticut has been confirmed by Yale scientists as a meteorite.

Researchers believe the rock was originally part of the Lyrids meteor shower, which happens each year around the same time as Earth intersects the orbit of comet Thatcher.

The object, about the size of a grapefruit, is estimated to be about 4.5 billion years old.
