Throwing food at people: The Australian media made a meal out of an incident when 16-year-old student Kyle Thompson allegedly assaulted Australian PM Julia Gillard with a Vegemite sandwich.

Gillard was on a routine photo op at a Brisbane high school when a student, possibly displeased with her policies, hurled his lunch at the leader. Thompson was quickly fingered as the culprit and suspended from school for three weeks. However, Kyle pleaded innocence, insisting he was made a patsy while the true assailant remained at large.
