Keanu Reeves praised Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada, calling him "Master" in a press conference held in Tokyo in advance of the world premiere of the movie 47 Ronin on Monday. The movie premiered in Japan today.
In addition to director Carl Erik Rinsch and Reeves, who is visiting Japan for the first time in five years, Japanese actors Hiroyuki Sanada, Jin Akanishi and Kou Shibasaki, making her Hollywood debut in 47 Ronin, were also present at the star-studded event.
During the press conference, Reeves praised Hiroyuki Sanada, constantly refering to him as "Shisyou," which means "Master." He further praised Hiroyuki Sanada as a gentleman and an extremely talented artist.
Sanada in turn praised Keanu Reeves, noting that he is humble and shy and possesses the samurai spirit because he's hard on himself but gentle with others.
47 Ronin, based on the classic Chushingura, or "loyalty," story of the same name, will be released worldwide on December 6.
