ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Palestinian villagers from the West Bank village of Qusra near Nablus clashed with Israeli soldiers who entered the village on Monday, after a group of settlers, according the Palestinians, were spotted vandalizing trees.
The residents say they went out in numbers to counter the settlers and were confronted by Israeli troops with whom they clashed, by hurling rocks at their armored vehicles.
The army fired tear gas, stun grenades and rubber coated bullets, wounding eight residents from the village, a local news agency reported.
Qusra is a flash point of violence. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Nablus in close proximity to a number of Jewish settlements whose residents, according to Palestinians, clash with local villagers.
