A video was recently posted on a site, showing a man in Lebanon microwaving a cat.

Cat owners are supposed to be responsible for the well being of their pets - sadly that's not always the case.

A video was recently posted on a social media site, showing a man reportedly in Lebanon microwaving a cat.

The absolutely disgusting clip lasted for about a minute. It showed a man, identified as Hassan Hammoud forcibly pushing a cat in the microwave before turning it on.

Hammoud’s friend filmed the incident laughing and joking during the footage. That accomplice later posted the video on his own Facebook page.

It was soon removed by the site for violating policies. Hammoud removed the animal from the appliance when it first showed signs of distress, but after cuddling the creature for a moment he put it right back in the microwave for several more seconds.

It’s believed the cat encountered some burns. Local animal rights organizations have asked Hammoud to hand over the pet, but thus far he has not done so.

Many want both men prosecuted, but the lax animal cruelty laws in Lebanon mean there is little authorities can do.
