To make a five-year-old’s dream of being a superhero come true, Make-A-Wish San Francisco is transforming downtown San Francisco into Gotham City.

To make a five-year-old’s dream of being a superhero come true, Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is transforming downtown San Francisco into Gotham City.

For a day, Miles, who is battling leukemia, will become Batkid and take on Gotham’s most dastardly villains.

In preparation, the organization has secured a Batmobile, enlisted thousands of volunteers, and identified the city’s most wanted wrongdoers.

On the morning of the event, a news story will announce that the city is desperately in need of Batkid’s help.

Batkid and his adult crime-fighting mentor Batman will rush to Nob Hill, where they’ll save a woman from peril.

Then it’s off to catch the Puzzler in the act of trying to make off with the contents of a vault.

They’ll break for lunch, but before long, a distress call from the police chief sends Batkid to the window.

There, he’ll see a huge group of people, begging for his help.

After saving the day once again, Batkid will be honored by the mayor and given the key to the city.

People wanting to volunteer for the event can check out the details on the San Francisco foundation’s website.
