A part-time cameraman for Radio and Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) died of a heart attack after a scuffle with a supporter of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) in Bandar Lama, Gua Musang, Malaysia, on Monday night.
Mohamed Yacob, 61, arrived home in his car after covering an assignment in Gua Musang to find a car blocking the entrance of his house. A scuffle then ensued between Yacob and the car owner.
According to local media, Yacob became weak and started having breathing difficulties shortly after the commotion. He was carried into the house by his neighbours. His wife drove him to the Gua Musang hospital after his condition turned critical, but he died en route.
PAS parliamentary candidate for Gua Musang Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah stressed there was nothing political about the incident. Police have classified the incident as accidental death.
