"Bad Grandpa" kicks space thriller "Gravity" from the top spot at this weekend's box office charts, collecting $32 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales.
The comedy stars "Jackass" comedian Johnny Knoxville, disguised as an 86-year-old, who travels the U.S. with his grandson, pulling pranks on people wherever they go.
The film cost $15 million to make.
After a three-week lead, "Gravity" lost its momentum and slipped to the number 2 spot with $20.3 million, according to studio estimates.
And despite its all-star cast, "The Counselor," starring Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz, collected $8 million at the box office.
The Rotten Tomatoes website gave it a 35% recommendation.
