Patna: Serial bomb blasts rocked Patna on Sunday even as the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's arrived in the city for 'Hunkar' rally. One person was reportedly killed in the explosion.

The second explosion took place at a movie theatre even as Modi arrived in the state capital to address the rally in Gandhi Maidan today.

More details are awaited about the second explosion. Meanwhile, one person was killed earlier today during a crude bomb explosion at Patna railway station.

The blast took place at around 9 am in the morning at a public toilet outside the platform of the railway station.

While security has been beefed up, one person has reportedly been detained so far.

The bomb explosion squad is now present at the spot and two crude bombs were found at the railway station.

The explosion took place as the state gears up for Modi's rally in Patna's Gandhi Maidan today which lakhs of people are expected to attend.

The bomb blasts took place as thousands of people are arriving in the city by trains to attend Modi's rally. BJP has even booked around 11 special trains to ferry party workers and supporters to the state capital.

Five other explosions have also been reported near Patna's Gandhi Maidan where Modi is scheduled to address the rally.

However, BJP has decided to go ahead with the rally according to the schedule even after the explosions.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh tweeted, "What a coincidence blast at Patna Railway on the day of Modi's Rally ! Challenge to Nitish Govt to find the culprit !"
