Mexico will launch a new satellite geared to providing internet and voice communication services to rural and remote areas in the Central America region. The Mexsat Centenario satellite will be launched in the first half of 2014. The satellite is being constructed by Boeing and weighs nearly six tonnes and will cost north of US$2 billion.
