Sometimes we have so much to show you that we need a second video to cover all the information, like learning about deadheading perennials and other flowering plants. Deadheading is a topic like that, because of the great variety in the way plants bud and grow. Plants flower to produce seeds and more plants. When you deadhead a plant - that is, when you remove the spent flowers and stalks on a plant -you encourage it to put its energy elsewhere. The energy can then go into strengthening the plant and its roots and leaves.
