I purchased the acclaimed, "American made", Primo XL oval grill. I purchased this table to house the grill. I guess it was too much to hope that it also was American made. It is not. Its made in China, which in itself is not a bad thing. What is bad is the fit & hardware of this table. While the material & paint on this table are nice, that is soon forgotten when putting this table together. Two types of threaded screws are used on this unit. One type affixes into threaded inserts that are pop riveted in to the legs and support pieces. All are metric, more on this latter. The 1st 3 screws that I tried to start into the inserts would not start, and another 2 latter on did the same. The threads on the screws were fine it was the threads on the inserts that where either not tapped cleanly or where distorted when riveted in place. In any case just a little quality control would have caught this problem on 5 of 20 threaded inserts. Thats a failure rate of 20%. A 15 mile trip to the hard ware store would now interrupt the building process. Now back to the metric issue. The Lowes in our area, (the most likely store to carry metric taps), does carry metric taps, however they only shelf the box sets. I could not purchase the particular single size that I needed, I had to purchase the set. Im now $40.00 in the hole for that, plus gas, plus time to find them. It does not end here. When trying to gently retap the inserts, which are held in by the friction of the rivet fixture, it came as no surprise that the force needed to tap them was greater that the force that the rivets could withstand. This allowed the insert to spin in place. I had no options left @ this point but to put it together with lose and ill fitting hardware that would not properly tighten. The table is not a very secure platform for the weight of this grill because of this. The stainless steel shelves that come with this table are not properly sized.
