Two men were injured in a shooting inside a building on Zurich's busy Langstrasse shopping street. According to the BBC, the shooting happened shortly after 3pm, in a former boutique now used for art events. The shooter opened fire and injured two men before fleeing the scene. The motive remains unclear.
The two men injured are aged 33 and 41. After the shooting, one of them stopped a passerby saying he had been shot and needed an ambulance, the Telegraph reported.
They were both taken to a hospital but their injuries were not life-threatening. According to the BBC, the Langstrasse area is well known for its association with the sex trade and crime.
Switzerland has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world, which comes as a legacy to the historic requirement that all men of military age had a weapon ready to defend the country, the Telegraph reported.
