Mike Reda, a 65-year-old resident of the Pablo Davis Elderly Living Center in Detroit, Michigan, allegedly used an AK-47 to kill two women on Sunday. Reda reportedly had just been dumped by his girlfriend and blamed the two women for the break-up.

The incident began at about 5:45pm local time. Witness Paul Frantangelo was chatting with a 54-year-old woman, also a resident at the 80-unit apartment complex at 9200 West Vernor Highway. Mike Reda approached carrying an AK-47 and allegedly ordered Paul Frantangelo to the ground and begin praying.

Frantangelo heard one shot and the woman he had just been talking with lay wounded on the ground. Reda then ordered Frantangelo to let him into the apartment complex front entrance.

A 65-year-old woman was later found dead inside her apartment. Mike Reda exited from a back entrance, where he was apprehended by police.

A police commander said a domestic dispute was a motivation in the killings. The two women were friends with Mike Reda's ex-girlfriend. Reda had allegedly blamed the women for the break-up. An argument between Reda and the unidentified ex-girlfriend had precipitated the shooting.

Witnesses said Reda had been drinking throughout the day. Some described him as a ticking time bomb. The identities of the two victims and the ex-girlfriend have not been released.

Reda and the two victims were all residents of the Pablo Davis Elderly Living Center. After the shooting, police evacuated other residents of the complex and searched the premises for other possible victims.
