London/New York, 28 Jul (EFE), (Camera: Ramon Abarca).- London began the one year countdown to the 2012 Olympic Games with a large street party in Trafalgar Square. Former Olympic champion Carl Lewis and United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon also marked the event at the U.N. headquarters in New York. Although the city is facing both security and transport issues, public support is on the rise and most of the facilities have been finished ahead of time.
