ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

A few thousand supporters of Egypt's deposed President Mohamed Mursi protested in Cairo on Friday (October 18).

Men, women and children shouted slogans against Egypt's army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who deposed Mursi on July 3, and carried Mursi posters and flags with a hand holding up four fingers, a prominent symbol at pro-Mursi protests.

The four-finger salute is meant to show solidarity with the hundreds of pro-Mursi protesters killed on August 14th when the security forces cleared out large sit-ins by his supporters by force.

There was no report of violence during the Cairo march, in contrast to previous protests in recent weeks which have seen violent clashes between supporters of Mursi, local residents and the security forces.
