One festive and well meaning man in Palm Bay Florida recently landed in the hospital after attempting to set up his signature Halloween decorations.

With the holidays approaching rapidly, many homeowners are digging through their garages looking for their yearly décor.

However that seemingly simple task can pose a danger if the installer doesn’t fully understand what they are doing and if there is any alcohol involved.

One festive and well meaning man in Palm Bay, Florida recently landed in the hospital after attempting to set up his signature Halloween decorations. The unidentified man received serious injuries after using gas to light a wooden cross on fire at his home. He ended up setting himself on fire.

The male’s wife was at their shared residence at the time of the incident and she was fortunately able to put out the flames. The man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he received treatment for the burns, which reportedly took over about 40 percent of his body.

The male's name has not been released to the public but according to authorities who responded to the incident, he had been drinking prior to installing the Halloween decoration.
