While gold may be considered somewhat out of fashion in today's world, it's still adored by the Chinese. A gold colored iPhone 5s doesn't hold a candle to an iPhone MADE out of actual gold. From things like high heels, ties and bras, in China gold has been used to make just about anything you can image.
Some wealthy Chinese have even gone to the insane length of using gold to make bathtubs, buses and sports cars. Several landmarks in China, including the New People's Daily Building in Beijing, the Hot Golden Tower in Hebei, and the Golden Century Building in Shenzhen were all partly made with gold. Their names and appearance also symbolize wealth and good fortune.
If you love gold and feel somewhat out of place in other countries, China may prove to be a dream come true.
