As the world waits for signs that the US political deadlock will end, a weary US House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner held another press briefing on Tuesday after his Republican party threw out a Senate deal.

The Republicans now meet to vote on a new bill - the question is whether it can pass without any Democratic votes whatsoever.
