Seven hunger striking asylum seekers staging their protest at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate have been taken to hospital with health problems.

The seven have been refusing food for about a week. They are part of a group of thirty who are protesting at what they describe as the inhuman conditions in refugee camps in Germany.

The organisation "Refugee Struggle for Freedom" is behind the protest.
