Police officer, 39-year-old Anthony Sarni’s job is now in question after he allegedly propositioned a woman for sex.

While most police officers are hard-working, selfless individuals there are exceptions. A law enforcement authority in Edison, New Jersey was recently accused of abusing his position.

39-year-old Anthony Sarni’s job is now in question after he allegedly propositioned a woman for sex. Sarni had reportedly completed his shift and he was still dressed in uniform when he drove to the Extended Stay America hotel.

He’s said to have then approached a lady, whom he had met earlier that same night while responding to disturbance call at the location. Once he made his second appearance at the hotel, he reportedly pressed the woman to engage in a sexual encounter but she declined.

The female then filed a complaint against Sarni, finding his behavior to be unprofessional. A law enforcement spokesperson stated “She felt he was being inappropriate and using his authority as a police officer to coerce her.”

Sarni who has worked for the department for 10 years and makes over 100 grand annually was suspended with pay, while an investigation aims to delve into the reported incident.

He has been charged administratively with lying to investigators and engaging in inappropriate conduct. If found guilty, he will be terminated.
