These items run the proverbial gamut. For protection, you’ll find shields that grant temporary invincibility for six seconds, along with a heart that allows your character to withstand one hit. Then we have the weapons, like the saw blade that ricochets off walls to chop opponents into bloody pieces, lightning strikes that send thousands of volts coursing through their tiny bodies, and bear traps that crush their bones. Blood and gore was kept to a minimum, but seeing it puts a stark contrast to Fun Run’s mostly cartoon exterior.
The controls, meanwhile, are user-friendly. All players have to do is press the left button to deploy power-ups, and the right button to jump. The latter proves especially useful, not only for dodging obstacles, but also for climbing walls after falling into pits.
