Barcelona, Nov 26 (EFE).- The president of the Catalan Government, Artur Mas, called early elections seeking a mandate for a referendum on independence from cash-strapped Spain, instead, the electorate rewarded other independence-minded groups and punished Mas's unpopular austerity measures.
