A bartender in Springfield, Oregon is now $17,500 richer after a customer gave a Keno ticket as a tip. 25-year-old Aurora Kephart has worked at Conway’s Restaurant and Lounge for the past four years.

She regularly receives unplayed keno tickets as gratuities from patrons, but on a recent Tuesday, the unconventional tipping method really paid off. A male customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, let Kephart choose two Keno tickets from a handful that he had just purchased.

She checked the numbers and found that the first ticket yielded 5 bucks. She then took a look at the second scrap of paper and realized it was worth over 17 grand.

Shocked, Kephart tried to give the ticket back to the male patron but he refused it. Kephart stated “You don't even expect anything like that. It's fantastic. I kind of teared up and got misty-eyed.”

She plans to buy a couch with the newly won cash and put the rest in savings.
