One week into the U.S. federal government shutdown and the affects are putting a damper on romance.
Meet Adam and Joy- a couple who'd been planning their dream wedding at Yosimite National Park.
You can imagine their disappointment when they learned the park would be closed.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) JOY MILLER, SAYING:
"When we heard that Yosemite was going to be closed on Monday, and our wedding was on Sunday, I cried for two days straight. Two days straight. It was devastating."
(SOUNDBITE) (English) ADAM BROWN, SAYING:
"Yeah, I didn't know what to think at first, I was in shock, I knew this meant everything to her, we'd been planning and saving for a whole year, and it was pretty devastating."
But not all was lost for the couple. After hearing their story on the local news, some good Semaritians- democratic leaning good Samaritans- stepped up to lend a helping hand.
