A factory van driver, 26-year-old N. Jeevandran, was riding his red Honda EX5 motorcycle along Jalan Permai Utama to work when he was shot twice at around 9:40 a.m. yesterday morning, according to The Borneo Post. The Star Online reported the shooting took place at Taman Seri Semarak, Parit Buntar, only minutes away from Jeevandran's home. He was shot in the abdomen and right hip, and he died on the spot.

No one saw who fired the shots, but The Borneo Post reported that three teachers at a nearby kindergarten heard two gunshots, and looked out a side window to see the man fall from his motorcycle.

Jeevandran's sister, N. Kalapana, was alerted that her brother was hurt roughly 10 minutes after the shooting, and rushed to the scene. Kerian district CID chief ASP Hilmi Ahmad sent a text message to The Borneo Post saying that "She rushed to the scene and found her brother lying in a pool of blood and still breathing but could not talk. Around five minutes later he died at the scene."

Three bullet casings, a wallet with his information inside, RM60 and a Nokia mobile phone were found at the scene of the crime.

Kalpana said her brother, who lived with their mother and four other siblings, was caring and loving.

Malaysian police are still looking into who attacked Jeevandran, and have launched a manhunt to track down a suspect.
