Twerking Fail Hoax: Jimmy Kimmel Wins the Internet For this Week

Views 1

It was the twerk heard round the world, until Jimmy Kimmel Live revealed it was a giant hoax, then it became the twerk heard round the universe.

The video, which shows an attractive blonde girl accidentally setting herself on fire while attempting to twerk, instantly went viral.

The video was first released last week when it was posted to a YouTube account belonging to "Caitlin Heller".

Seasoned cynics would have questioned why there was only one video uploaded to the account, but most people (ahem, reporters) just wanted to get the story out first.

Of course, once the truth about the video was out everyone began to over analyze what this said about our society.

Some people thought Kimmel did a good job of reflecting all that is wrong with the internet, while others felt betrayed by this hoax.

I mean, how can you trust all this "cute kitty" videos or "people falling into train tracks and getting saved at the last minute" videos?

Now we'll have to look at the media with a critical eye, and not believe everything we see. Thanks a lot, Jimmy Fallon.
