Former NFL Wide Receiver. 5’ 10” 160 lbs.#88, 4.3 /40 speed, Played 9 Seasons (SEE JJ'S NFL HIGHLIGHTS AT (www.jjbirden.ws). Drafted 1988 by Cleveland Browns. Also played for Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons
Born in Portland Oregon, JJ attended the University of Oregon where he was a standout track star who was destined for the 1988 Olympics but an unfortunate injury ended that dream. He was the first proto-type track star to successfully “walk on” and excel at football for the Oregon Ducks. JJ graduated from the University of Oregon in 1989. After enjoying 9 productive seasons in the NFL, JJ retired in 1997.
JJ’s hard work ethic and intensity carried over to his personal and professional life. Since leaving the NFL, JJ has owned and operated several profitable businesses in the Health and Wellness Industry. JJ is qualified as a coach, entrepreneur, fitness consultant, motivational speaker, and enjoys being a father to his 8 children (3 biological and 5 nieces/nephews). Since 2007, JJ and his wife Raina have been pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams together as top executives for Team X 88 International (Isagenix, Healthy and Wellness Company www.jjbirden.isagenix.com )
An uninformed person might ask, “Who is this random JJ Birden guy and why would I care to connect with him?” However, once you understand JJ’s journey, the answer to the question is clear: He has fought the most unforgiving odds throughout his life and yet JJ somehow has found ways to win. Does that sound like a person who has something to offer you? Think about the opposition he faced in the 1980’s as a world class track and field long jumper to making the move to playing pro football. Consider how JJ overcame not one, not two but three legitimate career ending injuries. Ponder the odds of survival, let alone a lasting career, for the smallest receiver in the league when powerhouse defenders like Deion Sanders and Ronnie Lott are hunting you. Yet, JJ found a way to compete at the highest level in the NFL for 9 seasons. JJ carried his passion to compete off the gridiron as well. How many NFL players do you know that are highly successful businessmen and good guys also? This is JJ Birden.
