In a rare moment of camaraderie between Republicans and Democrats, George W. Bush defended Barack Obama’s decision to play a round of golf from time to time.

The former president believes that taking a moment to relax is something that should be done by all individuals who hold the office.

During an interview with the Golf Channel Bush said, "I know what it's like to be in the bubble. And I know the pressures of the job. And to be able to get outside and play golf with some of your pals is important for the president. It does give you an outlet."

Bush is no stranger to being criticized for playing the game, though.

In 2002 he was much maligned by his detractors for comments he made on the course concerning terrorism right before saying, “Now watch this drive.”

Shortly after that, he gave up the game, not wanting the families of deployed service men and women to see him play during a time of war.

When it comes to President Obama, George W. Bush feels that he should be able to play golf as often as he wants to and can.
