From October 29th through the 31st, a pop-up farm stand will be set up in New York's JFK Airport.

When you’re looking to make a healthy meal derived from local ingredients, the last place you would probably think of going is to an airport.

Nevertheless, that’s exactly where a farm stand featuring fresh food will be set up in the near future.

From October 29th through the 31st, a pop-up stand will be set up in New York's JFK Airport. JetBlue is behind the idea, in partnership with GrowNYC, which operates over 50 greenmarkets throughout the city.

The airport farmers market will be held in Terminal 5. The head of sustainability at JetBlue Airways stated “it's actually the perfect environment to share how farms are important - connecting the retail experience to where everything comes from and what happens afterward.”

While the detailed food list has not been released, airline customers will be able to receive information regarding composting on top of purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables.

It’s hoped that if that venture is successful, farm stands will become a regular part of the JetBlue experience in airports across the country.

What do you think? Do you like the idea of farmer’s market at an airport?
