Queen Elizabeth is looking for a special person to be her ‘clock watcher’.

Clocks and watches are quickly losing their popularity as a standalone product considering most people just use their phones and other devices for keeping track of time. However, Queen Elizabeth II is keeping with tradition.

She is currently looking for a special person to be her ‘clock watcher’. Basically the Queen is offering a job to one lucky seeker, who will be responsible for constantly monitoring all Her Majesty’s timepieces to ensure that they are accurate at all times.

The clock watcher will have to maintain approximately 1,000 clocks and pocket watches. The biggest task of the job is winding the clocks when they are required to move forward in the spring and backwards in the fall.

The role comes with a salary of nearly $50,000 per year and the male or female who lands the job will be required to work 37.5 hours a week. The job also requires some travel. Not only will the clock watcher be working at Buckingham Palace, but also at the other royal residences around the country.

The job listing notes the timepiece expert must be “experienced at working with hand and machine tools" and have the knowledge to "strip and clean mechanisms” and create new parts.
