Judges at the International Criminal Court in The Hague have adjourned the trial of Kenyan Vice President William Ruto for a week to allow him to return home and deal with the hostage crisis.

Ruto is charged with crimes against humanity for allegedly coordinating violence in the aftermath of Kenya's 2007 presidential election.
